Android and the iPhone: the fall out
It’s a pretty silly argument. Who really believes that the operating system is really the place to innovate these days? This entire argument just seems so genuinely dumb.
Setting the record straight
Anybody who uses any software library anywhere is exposing themselves to patent risk. This is true even of open-source software. There’s not too much you can do about that but it does point out the total ridiculousness of the patent system.
What really seems to distinguish software engineers from other engineers is the lack of humility. There’s far too much emphasis on coming up with optimal solutions instead of valuable solutions.
