I would love to see a highly simplified desktop interface that could also scale up to run real desktop programs. This ought to be the goal and it looks like Ubuntu might do it.

That’s cool. And as somebody who hates Windows Explorer I’d love the ability to open multiple Explorer-like views in Eclipse.
