The Death of Files
I think users understand the concept of a file quite well. I’ve never met anybody, even little children, who couldn’t grasp it. The problem isn’t files, rather it’s managing files that becomes problematic for everybody — newbie and power-user alike.

I’ve often thought default parameters and named parameters are excellent ideas that lead to more readable and declarative code. What’s interesting is that in the comments there’s apparently quite a few who disagree. Seems everybody has different opinions on what contributes to readability…

It’s interesting that books, like software, have such high man-hour requirements. There’s likely room here for the internet to come in and reduce costs.
