Using a Maven repository as a service repository
That’s a very neat use of Maven. I wonder where else people are leveraging maven’s dependency magic?

Thoughts From the Man Who Would Sell The World, Nicely
I can’t imagine any reason why users would want their personal data sold and harvested to the highest bidder. All of these social data harvesters are, I suspect, in for a rude awakening.

Why I’ll never own another server
It’s a good point. When you factor in maitenance, owning in your own server can be terribly expensive. But note that EC2 doesn’t eliminate the worst parts of maitenance such as installing and updating software. Building a data center is a one-time thing but installing security updates is forever.
