Makes you wonder why this hasn’t been pursued more aggressively in the past. Seems like multitouch and the movies have really changed what people expect from a UI. In a sense this is making computers less abstract and more ‘tangible’.

It’s so very true. There’s simply nobody — and I do mean nobody — in the world who understands 100% of C++. Stroustrup himself groks maybe 80% of the language.
